Tereksai Mine

The Tereksai mine is located in the village of Tereksai, Chatkal district, Jalal-Abad Oblast, Kyrgyz Republic. Absolute elevations are 1800-2500 meters above sea level. The Tereksay mine is one of the oldest mining enterprises in the Republic. For a long time it was focused on the extraction of antimony with associated gold production. In the early 90s, the main product of the Tereksay mine was gold mining at the Terek deposit. From the beginning of the 2000s to the present, due to the depletion of reserves of this deposit, the mine’s raw material base has been the Terekkan deposit.

Systematic study of the geology and minerals in the area began in 1934 and in the same year the Terekkan gold deposit was discovered. Its exploration was completed in 1978.

In 2002, on the basis of the Jalal-Abad geological exploration party of the State Agency for Geology and Mineral Resources under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Terek-Sai mine of the Kadamjay Antimony Plant, the Tereksay Mine branch of Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC was formed. The branch is engaged in the development and geological study of gold deposits and other related work. Currently, Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC has a license to develop two ore bodies of the Terekkan gold deposit and to develop the Dalniy section of the Terek deposit.

The mine's production capacity is more than 100 thousand tons of ore per year. The ore is processed at a processing plant to obtain the final product in the form of a sulfide gold-bearing flotation concentrate with an average gold content of about 40 g/t. About 150 kg of gold in concentrate are produced annually. Previously (until 2003), the products of the concentration plant were processed at the Kadamzhai Antimony Plant (K AP), but due to the lack of necessary reagents that were used in its processing into gold-antimony alloy, which one of the Kazakh enterprises ceased to supply, this production line was closed. Currently, flotation concentrate is sold to the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Kazakhstan. Industrial gold reserves in the Tereksai zone, which also includes the Perevalnoye deposit, amount to about 20-25 tons of gold. According to forecasts, there is a total of about 70 tons of precious metal in the deposits of the Tereksai group (Terekkan, Terek, Chapchama and Chaartash deposits).

The number of employees of the Tereksai Mine branch is 395 people. More than 70% of the engineering and technical personnel have many years of experience and extensive experience in geology and the mining industry.
