«Karakala-Terek» deposit
Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC has License No. 7359 AE dated July 17, 2023 for the right to use subsoil for the purpose of developing the Terek field and License No. 7360 AR dated July 17, 2023 for the right to use subsoil for the purpose of geological exploration at the Karakala-Terek area field.
The size of the licensed area is 6700 hectares.
The field is located in the Alai district of Osh region, at the eastern end of the Alai ridge, on the right side of the Gulcha river, at altitudes of 2100-2600 m.
The area is well developed and easily accessible. The nearest settlements and power lines are 0.5-2 km away, the road is 0.5-2 km away, and the railway station is 125 km away. The field is adjacent to the Osh-Khorog state highway. A temporary road about 3 km long has been built to the central part of the deposit.
Two age differences of rocks (P3 and C2) are separated by the steeply dipping Karakalinsky crack of north-northeast strike. Along its eastern wing, a mineralized shear zone 14 km long and 300-700 m wide can be traced. This zone controls the placement of gold-sulfide-quartz mineralization.
Mineralization is localized in steeply dipping linear zones of carbonate-quartz veining, consistent with the general submeridional structural plan of the deposit. Within these zones, 21 ore bodies have been identified in the form of steeply dipping submeridional veins. The ore bodies have not been traced along the dip. The near-ore alteration is represented by a dense network of veinlets of quartz, ankerite and ankerite-quartz compositions.
In total, the predicted resources of category P2 for the deposit are 47.4 tons of gold, for category C1+C2 they are 3.3 tons of gold.
